What is coaching?
Coaching is a partnership between the coach and client designed to have you be your personal best. Coaching takes you from good to great. Together, we distinguish what is in the way of you accomplishing your goals. Often, there are attitudes, beliefs and perceptions that limit what is possible. By bringing these into the foreground, we are able to get you out of your own way so that you can get you into action. Instead of just wanting things, you’ll actually start creating them. I do this by showing you what you cannot see and telling you what no one else would dare to say. Over time, you will develop this self awareness as well as the ability to self correct. Are you ready to engage in a powerful partnership with someone who believes in you? Who holds you accountable to achieving your dreams? Who won’t buy into your stories or the fears that may hold you back?
How does coaching differ from therapy?
Therapy deals with traumas from the past and is intended to provide relief or healing from prior events. It is diagnosis based and people may spend years working with therapists to get to the root of the issue so that they are able to move forward in their lives with freedom from the past. Coaching is about creating your future. Consequently, the vast majority of time spent coaching will be spent designing that future, with time also allotted to distinguishing what is happening in the present that is preventing you from attaining that future. Occasionally, we may also look briefly into the past. Coaching is designed for healthy individuals. Comparatively speaking, coaching is quite fast paced. You might hire a coach for a 6 to 12 month engagement, and in that time frame, accomplish 3-5 significant projects that you’d previously struggled with for years, or even decades. Powerful coaching shifts not only what you accomplish or attain in life; it transforms who you are.
How long does a coaching session last?
In general, coaching sessions last 45 minutes or up to 1 hour.
How many times a month will I be coached?
Three sessions per month, typically.
How long does a typical coaching engagement last?
The typical coaching engagement is 6-12 months or longer, depending upon the number of areas in which you would like to be coached and the scope of your goals.

Can coaching be done over the phone or video conference?
Yes, coaching can be done over the phone or video conference. Most of my clients prefer the flexibility that phone and video conference provide.
What is the International Coach Federation (ICF)?
The ICF is the global standards body for coaching. They establish core competencies for coach training, a professional code of ethics for coaches, and accreditation for coach training programs that meet their elite standards.
